Who they are, where they came from
Al Green represents Texas's 9th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, a seat he has held since January 2005. He serves on the House Committee on Financial Services. Before entering Congress, Green served as justice of the peace in Harris County, Texas from 1977 to 2004, and he is a lawyer by training.
