Who they are, where they came from

Andrea Rose Salinas represents Oregon's 6th congressional district, a seat she has held since January 3, 2023. The district encompasses all of Yamhill and Polk counties, the portion of Marion County that includes Salem and Woodburn, a small section of Beaverton, and the suburban communities southwest of Portland, including Tigard, Tualatin, and Sherwood. Salinas has sponsored legislation spanning tribal land rights, agricultural food access, public lands conservation, mental health services, housing, and rural economic development. She sponsored HR.1722, the Grand Ronde Reservation Act Amendment of 2023, which was enacted into law, addressing hunting, fishing, trapping, and gathering rights on the Grand Ronde Reservation. She has also sponsored HR.6203 and HR.3784, successive versions of the Farmers Feeding America Act, which would expand food access programs. On public lands, she sponsored HR.3930, the Roadless Area Conservation Act of 2025. Her mental health legislative work includes HR.5557, the Mental Health Services for Students Act of 2025; HR.6817, the Home-Based Telemental Health Care Act; HR.1096, the HOPE and Mental Wellbeing Act of 2025; and HR.2741, the PEER Support Act. She has also introduced HR.6477, the Housing to Homes Act, addressing housing access, and HR.3254, the Disaster Relief for Farm Workers Act. Additional sponsored measures include HR.4347 on nutrition assistance data, HR.7474 on soil conservation, HR.8237 on quantum instrumentation research, HR.1141 on gambling addiction treatment, HR.3655 on scholarship access, HR.6041 on rural partnership, and HR.3465 on Civilian Conservation Centers.
