Who they are, where they came from
Aumua Amata Coleman Radewagen serves as the U.S. House Delegate representing American Samoa, a position she has held since January 2015. She was elected on November 4, 2014, defeating Democratic incumbent Eni Faleomavaega, becoming the first Republican to hold the delegate seat since the office was established in 1970 and the first woman to represent American Samoa in the U.S. Congress. She also serves as national committeewoman for the Republican Party of American Samoa. In the House, she has sponsored legislation addressing American Samoa's constitutional governance (HR.6062), fisheries treaty obligations (HR.531), territorial economic development (HR.399), and naturalization requirements for residents of American Samoa (HR.449).
