Who they are, where they came from

Brett Guthrie represents Kentucky's 2nd congressional district, a seat he has held since January 2009. The district encompasses central Kentucky communities including Fort Knox, Owensboro, Bowling Green, and a portion of eastern Louisville. Before his election to Congress, Guthrie served as a member of the Kentucky Senate and has a background in business. In Congress, his sponsored legislation has addressed substance use treatment programs, Alzheimer's disease research infrastructure, and health care workforce development. He has also introduced legislation related to Mammoth Cave National Park, which lies within his district.
