Who they are, where they came from

Celeste Maloy represents Utah's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, having been sworn in on November 21, 2023. Before her election, she served as chief legal counsel to U.S. Representative Chris Stewart and as deputy county attorney for Washington County, Utah. Earlier in her career, she worked as a conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Her sponsored legislation that has been enacted includes H.R.7332, the Utah State Parks Adjustment Act, and H.R.8666, a bill amending title 28 of the United States Code to authorize holding court for the Central Division of the District of Utah. She also sponsored H.J.Res.60, a joint resolution of congressional disapproval that was enacted. Additional sponsored legislation includes H.R.3777, the Public Land Search and Rescue Act, H.R.300, the Daylight Act, and H.R.5593, a bill that would expand veterans' benefits under title 38 to include eyeglass lens fittings.
