Who they are, where they came from

Chrissy Houlahan represents Pennsylvania's 6th congressional district, which covers nearly all of Chester County west of Philadelphia and the southern portion of Berks County including the city of Reading. She has served in this seat since January 2019, first elected in 2018 by defeating Republican Greg McCauley. Before entering Congress, Houlahan served as an officer in the United States Air Force and worked as an engineer. She is a member of the Democratic Party. In Congress, Houlahan has sponsored legislation across several policy areas. She sponsored the Support UNFPA Funding Act (HR.4166, HR.2439), which addresses United States contributions to the United Nations Population Fund. She introduced the Banning Oil Exports to Foreign Adversaries Act (HR.293), addressing energy export policy. Her legislation touching military personnel includes the MARCH for Military Servicemembers Act (HR.3969), the Servicewomen and Veterans Menopause Research Act (HR.2717), and a resolution expressing support for Military Sexual Trauma Awareness Day (HRES.770). She also sponsored the Unity through Service Act of 2025 (HR.2324) and a resolution supporting the designation of a National Service and Civic Engagement day (HRES.513). Additional sponsored measures include the PSLF Payment Completion Fairness Act (HR.3267) on student loan policy, the STEM RESTART Act (HR.4452), the Mathematical and Statistical Modeling Education Act (HR.730), the Research Advancing to Market Production for Innovators Act (HR.3239), and the Protecting Mushroom Farmers Act (HR.1613).
