Christian D. Menefee represents Texas's 18th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, having been sworn in on February 2, 2026. Before entering Congress, Menefee served as County Attorney for Harris County, Texas, from 2021 to 2026. He was the youngest person and the first African American to hold that office. As County Attorney, he served as the chief legal officer for one of the most populous counties in the United States. Menefee is an attorney by profession and a member of the Democratic Party.

Outside spending in the cycle totaled $1.95M supporting Menefee, with Protect Progress the top spender at $1.56M, followed by Leaders We Deserve at $287K and Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC at $100K; no notable outside spending opposed him.
