Who they are, where they came from

Chuck Fleischmann is the U.S. Representative for Tennessee's 3rd congressional district, a seat he has held since January 2011. The district is centered on Chattanooga and encompasses a substantial portion of East Tennessee, including the city of Oak Ridge. Fleischmann is an attorney by training and a member of the Republican Party. In Congress, his sponsored legislation includes the James J. Andrews and William H. Campbell Congressional Gold Medal Act (H.R.763) and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Historic Lands Reacquisition Act (H.R.226). He has also introduced amendments that were agreed to by voice vote in the 118th and 119th Congresses (HAMDT.487, HAMDT.1087, HAMDT.63).
