Doug Collins serves as the 12th United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs, a position he has held since February 4, 2025. He previously represented Georgia's 9th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2013 to 2021, and before that served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2007 to 2013, representing the 27th district, which includes portions of Hall County, Lumpkin County, and White County. Collins has served as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve since 2002 and was promoted to colonel in 2023.
