Who they are, where they came from

George Whitesides represents California's 27th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, having taken office on January 3, 2025. Before entering Congress, Whitesides served as Chief of Staff at NASA and later as Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Galactic, a commercial spaceflight company. His career has spanned both federal government service and the private aerospace sector. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
