Who they are, where they came from

James Richardson Comer Jr. represents Kentucky's 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he has served since 2016. A member of the Republican Party, Comer previously served in the Kentucky House of Representatives and as Kentucky's agriculture commissioner before his election to Congress. In the 118th Congress, Comer chaired the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. His sponsored legislation includes a bill that was enacted into law to revitalize the D.C. Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium campus (HR.4984), as well as measures addressing federal workforce policy (HR.473), business liability standards (HR.2826, HR.4366), and government oversight (HRES.1293).
