Who they are, where they came from

James R. Walkinshaw represents Virginia's 11th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, having been sworn in on September 10, 2025. Before entering Congress, he served as a member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors representing the Braddock District from 2020 until his resignation in 2025 to take his congressional seat. Prior to his elected service, he worked as a congressional aide. Walkinshaw is a member of the Democratic Party.
