Who they are, where they came from
Jerrold Lewis Nadler is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing New York's 12th congressional district, which covers portions of Manhattan's west and east sides from 14th Street to 110th Street. He has served in Congress since 1992, making him the dean of New York's U.S. House delegation. Prior to his election to Congress, Nadler served eight terms in the New York State Assembly. His district boundaries have shifted across redistricting cycles; he represented portions of the west side of Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn under the 17th, 8th, and 10th district designations before moving to the 12th district in 2023. He is a lawyer by training and a resident of Manhattan's Upper West Side.
