Who they are, where they came from

John Boozman serves as the senior United States Senator from Arkansas, a seat he has held since January 2011. A member of the Republican Party, he previously represented Arkansas's 3rd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001 to 2011. Since 2013, he has served as the dean of Arkansas's congressional delegation. Before entering elected office, Boozman worked as an optometrist. His sponsored legislation in the 118th Congress includes the Duck Stamp Modernization Act of 2023 (S.788), which was enacted into law, the GUARD VA Benefits Act of 2023 (S.740), which addresses benefits for National Guard veterans and advanced in committee with broad cosponsorship, and the Sultana Steamboat Disaster Commemorative Coin Act of 2024 (S.4059). He also introduced Amendment SA 1089 (SAMDT.1089), which was agreed to in the Senate by unanimous consent.
