Who they are, where they came from
Kathy Castor represents Florida's 14th congressional district, based in Tampa, and has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 2007. The district was designated the 11th congressional district from 2007 to 2013 before its renumbering. A lawyer and Democrat, Castor previously served as a member of the Hillsborough County Commission before her election to Congress.
