Who they are, where they came from

Kevin Hern represents Oklahoma's 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, a seat he has held since 2018. A Republican from Oklahoma, Hern is also a businessman. In the 118th Congress, his legislative activity has included sponsoring bills related to health care access, education, and small business regulation, as well as introducing amendments that were agreed to by the House (HAMDT.137, HAMDT.778, HAMDT.777). He sponsored the American Franchise Act (HR.5267), which addresses franchise business regulation, and has reintroduced multiple measures across health savings accounts (HR.2436), Medicare telehealth (HR.1867), prescription digital therapeutics (HR.3288), senior care access (HR.1924), and education savings (HR.939). On a series of final passage votes for continuing appropriations measures, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024, and the Social Security Fairness Act of 2023, Hern voted against measures that passed with majority support from his party.
