Who they are, where they came from

Kristen McDonald Rivet has represented Michigan's 8th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 3, 2025. Her district, located in Central Michigan, encompasses Flint and the Tri-Cities metropolitan area of Saginaw, Midland, and Bay City. Before joining Congress, she served in the Michigan Senate representing the 35th district, where she held the position of assistant majority floor leader from 2023 to 2025.
