Who they are, where they came from

Lisa C. McClain has represented Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 3, 2021, serving Michigan's 10th congressional district from 2021 to 2023 and Michigan's 9th congressional district from 2023 onward. A member of the Republican Party, she currently holds the position of Chair of the House Republican Conference. Her sponsored legislation includes the Expanding America's National Cemetery Act of 2023 (H.R.1413), the Great Lakes Mapping Act of 2025 (H.R.2731), the Information Quality Assurance Act of 2025 (H.R.6329), and the Accountability in Foreign Animal Research Act (H.R.3043). She voted against the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2024 and Other Extensions Act (H.R.5860) and against the Billie Jean King Congressional Gold Medal Act (S.2861), both of which became law.
