Lucy McBath represents Georgia's 6th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, serving constituents in the suburbs of Atlanta. A member of the Democratic Party, she has held congressional office since January 2019. She represented the 6th district from 2019 to 2023, then the neighboring 7th district from 2023 to 2025, and returned to representing the 6th district beginning in 2025. McBath's legislative record includes bills that became law, among them the Stop Campus Hazing Act (HR.5646) and the Federal Prison Oversight Act (HR.3019). On firearms policy, she has sponsored the Federal Extreme Risk Protection Order Act in multiple congresses (HR.3018, HR.7599), the Assault Weapons Ban of 2025 (HR.3115), and the GOSAFE Act (HR.2790). She has also sponsored legislation addressing maternal and child nutrition through the Extending WIC for New Moms Act (HR.3332, HR.8055), family violence services through the Family Violence Prevention and Services Improvement Act (HR.2604, HR.7333), and workforce and education issues through the Preparing And Retaining All (PARA) Educators Act (HR.5476), the Adult Education WORKS Act (HR.2789), and a bill to amend the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (HR.1132).
