Marc A. Veasey represents Texas's 33rd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, a seat he has held since January 3, 2013. Before his election to Congress, Veasey served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013, where he held the position of chair pro tempore of the House Democratic Caucus. He voted in favor of the Building Chips in America Act of 2023 (S.2228), which became law, on a vote that ran counter to his party's majority position. He has sponsored resolutions on political violence (HRES.746), diversity and inclusion in higher education (HRES.608), and federal document transparency relating to Jeffrey Epstein (HRES.577), as well as legislation on early childhood vision screening (HR.2527) and congressional gold medal recognition for the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion (HR.4621).
