Who they are, where they came from
Marcy Kaptur represents Ohio's 9th congressional district, a seat she has held since January 3, 1983, making her the longest-serving woman in congressional history. She serves as the dean of Ohio's congressional delegation, a distinction she has held since 2009. Her district runs along the southern shore of Lake Erie across northwestern Ohio, encompassing parts of Toledo and surrounding communities.
