Maria Cantwell is a U.S. Senator from Washington, serving since January 3, 2001, and a member of the Democratic Party. Prior to her Senate tenure, she served in the Washington House of Representatives from 1987 to 1993 and in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 1995. In the Senate, her legislative record spans tribal land and sovereignty issues, public lands conservation, aviation safety, technology policy, and supply chain infrastructure.
