Who they are, where they came from

Maxine Dexter is a physician and politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Oregon's 3rd congressional district, a seat she has held since January 3, 2025. The district encompasses most of Portland east of the Willamette River. Prior to her election to Congress, Dexter represented the 33rd district of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2020 to 2024, covering parts of Northwest Portland as well as the Cedar Mill, Oak Hills, and Bethany communities. She sponsored H.R.4446, the FAST VETS Act, which was enacted into law.
