Roger F. Wicker serves as the senior United States Senator from Mississippi, a seat he has held since December 2007. A member of the Republican Party, Wicker is an attorney and former Air Force officer. Before his Senate service, he was a Mississippi State Senator from 1988 to 1995 and represented Mississippi's 1st congressional district in the U.S. House from 1995 to 2007. In the Senate, Wicker has sponsored legislation across transportation security, infrastructure financing, broadband access, and public health.
