Sarah Elfreth represents Maryland's 3rd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, having taken office on January 3, 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served in the Maryland Senate, representing the 30th district from 2019 to 2025. Born September 9, 1988, Elfreth spent six years in the state legislature before winning election to the U.S. House. In the 119th Congress, she sponsored H.R.1989, the Protect Our Probationary Employees Act, a measure related to federal probationary workers, which attracted 50 to 99 cosponsors.
