01 · Background

Who they are, where they came from

Seth Moulton represents Massachusetts's 6th congressional district, a seat he has held since January 2015. His district encompasses many of Boston's northern suburbs, including Andover, Marblehead, Peabody, and his hometown of Salem. A member of the Democratic Party and a Marine Corps combat veteran, Moulton has sponsored legislation commemorating Marine Corps history, including the 250th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps Commemorative Coin Act (HR.1096), which was enacted into law. He also secured enactment of the Salem Maritime National Historical Park Redesignation and Boundary Study Act (HR.2215), directly affecting his home district. In the 118th Congress, he voted in favor of the Building Chips in America Act of 2023 (S.2228), a measure that became law.
