Steve Womack represents Arkansas's 3rd congressional district, which encompasses northwestern Arkansas including Fort Smith, Fayetteville, Springdale, and his hometown of Rogers. He has held the seat since January 2011, succeeding John Boozman, who left the House to run successfully for U.S. Senate. Before his election to Congress, Womack served as mayor of Rogers. He is a member of the Republican Party. In the House, Womack has sponsored measures related to radio broadcasting performance royalties, poppy seed food safety, veteran telemedicine access, and a proposed constitutional amendment relating to congressional authority over spending.
