Who they are, where they came from

Ted Lieu is a lawyer and member of the U.S. House of Representatives serving California's 36th congressional district, a position he has held since 2023. He previously represented California's 33rd congressional district from 2015 to 2023. His district encompasses the South Bay and Westside regions of Los Angeles, including Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and the Beach Cities. Lieu's legislative record spans technology, civil liberties, public health, and national security. He has sponsored the Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act in multiple congressional sessions, a measure targeting fraudulent conversion therapy practices (H.R.3243, H.R.4340). He has introduced Tyler's Law (H.R.2004) and repeatedly sponsored resolutions reaffirming U.S. commitments to the safety and health of LGBTQ+ individuals (H.Res.533, H.Res.1314, H.Res.526).
