Who they are, where they came from

Tim Moore represents North Carolina's 14th congressional district, having taken office on January 3, 2025. An attorney and Republican, Moore previously served as Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives from 2015 to 2025, making him one of the longest-serving speakers in North Carolina history. He first won election to the state House in 2002, representing the 111th State House District encompassing Cleveland County, before being elected to the U.S. House. In Congress, Moore voted against S.3971, the Small Business Innovation and Economic Security Act, and sponsored H.RES.984, a resolution supporting the recognition of January 9, 2026, as "National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day."
