Who they are, where they came from

Troy Downing represents Montana's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, having taken office on January 3, 2025. A member of the Republican Party, Downing previously served as Montana state auditor from 2021 to 2025. Before entering elected office, he worked as a businessman. In the 119th Congress, Downing sponsored H.J.Res.104, a joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5 of the United States Code; the resolution was enacted into law.
