01 · Background

Who they are, where they came from

W. Gregory Steube represents Florida's 17th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, a seat he has held since January 3, 2019. He was born on May 19, 1978. In the 119th Congress, Steube sponsored the Chiropractic Medicare Coverage Modernization Act of 2025 (HR.539), a reintroduction of legislation he also sponsored in the 118th Congress (HR.1610), which would expand Medicare coverage for chiropractic services. His most consequential sponsored legislation to date is the Federal Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2023 (HR.5863), which was enacted into law. On the House floor, Steube cast votes against the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 (HR.2882), the Extension of Continuing Appropriations and Other Matters Act, 2024 (HR.7463), and a further continuing appropriations measure (HR.2872), each time voting against his party's majority position. He also voted against the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 (HR.3935), the Social Security Fairness Act of 2023 (HR.82), the Autism CARES Act of 2024 (HR.7213), and several additional measures that became law, in each instance voting against the majority of his party's caucus.
