Who they are, where they came from

Zachary (Zach) Nunn represents Iowa's 3rd Congressional District as a Republican and has served in the House since January 3, 2023. His legislative portfolio spans national security, fiscal policy, rural economic development, agricultural technology, and cybersecurity. In the 119th Congress, Nunn sponsored the Maximum Pressure Act (HR.2570), a foreign policy measure that attracted between 50 and 99 cosponsors, and reintroduced a proposed balanced budget amendment to the Constitution (HJRES.10). His work on behalf of servicemembers includes sponsorship of the Daniel J. Harvey, Jr. and Adam Lambert Improving Servicemember Transition to Red Act (HR.2878). On domestic economic matters, he sponsored the Revitalizing Rural Communities Act of 2025 (HR.5598) and the ReConnecting Rural America Act of 2025 (HR.3119), both addressing conditions in rural areas. Nunn also sponsored the Neutralizing Unfair Chinese Export Subsidies Act of 2025 (HR.4522) and the Financial Technology Protection Act of 2025 (HR.2384), addressing trade and financial technology policy. Additional sponsored measures include the Train More Nurses Act (HR.5052), the AI PLAN Act (HR.2152), the Cybersecurity in Agriculture Act of 2025 (HR.4046), the Agricultural Biorefinery Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2025 (HR.3253), and the Public and Private Sector Ransomware Response Coordination Act of 2025 (HR.807). On health and public safety, Nunn sponsored the Prevent Youth Suicide Act (HR.5482), the HEALTH for MOM Act of 2025 (HR.3365), the Safe Schools and Communities Act of 2025 (HR.4713), and the Safe Drinking Water for Disadvantaged Communities Act (HR.4816). He also sponsored the Extraordinary Measures Transparency Act (HR.737) and the Safeguarding Social Security and Medicare Act (HR.1339). An amendment he offered in the 118th Congress, HAMDT.1183, was agreed to by voice vote.
